Interview with Lucianne Rivers

Today I have the lovely Lucianne Rivers visiting, author of the Caldwell Sisters novellas - Hold Me, Thrill Me and Entice Me.

Lucianne writes romantic suspense for Entangled Publishing and Cobblestone Press. Born and raised in Ireland, she currently lives in New Mexico with her young daughter.

Formerly a stage and television actress, she now manages a non-profit and is NM State Champion in her weight class for Olympic style weightlifting.  Long story.  Recently she has taken up Crossfit, Jiu Jitsu and boxing

Aislynn:  Here at Stitch Read Cook I have a weekly feature called  - "A Day in the Life of.." Could you give us a brief summary of what your days are typically like?

Lucianne:  I wake up when my toddler wakes, which is usually about 7:30 am. We eat breakfast, or rather I serve her while she eats. Then I drop her to day care and work from home. Go to the gym at lunch. Work. Then take a Jiu Jitsu class in the evening. TV or book or meeting with friends. Bed.

A:  Describe each of the Caldwell sisters in 10 words or less.

Each one is different. Jane is well-dressed and out of her depth, Margo is a kick-ass police officer who braves her fear of open water to save her new lover, and Allison is the baby of family who melts the heart of a battle-worn ex-Navy SEAL. All of them have drive and devotion to family.  These are women worth spending time with.

A: What inspired you to write a series about three sisters?

L:  My travels abroad.

A:  Who would you say had the biggest influence on your writing career and style?

L:  Charlotte Bronte in terms of clever descriptions. Anne Stuart or Iris Johansen in terms of short, to the point, sentences.

A:  As an author, what was the most important thing you've learned through the process?

L:  That you can't learn to write just from reading books. There are a lot of rules to be understood and followed. To take some classes before you type three hundred pages of unusable manusript!

A:  What book is at the top of your TBR pile?

L:  The next release from Catherine Mann

A:  Outside of writing, do you have any hobbies or crafts that you enjoy? (ie. knitting, crochet, sewing etc)

L:  I'm a huge fan of working out. I do Crossfit, Jiu Jitsu, and running.

A:  Can you give us a sneak peak into your newest project?

L:  I'm giving writing a break for a while as I go off to train to be a police officer.  The academy is five months long and starts in January!

Day or Night?  Day

ENTICE ME by Lucianne Rivers

Heartsick over the untimely death of her mother, Allison Caldwell is blindsided again by the secret revealed in her mom’s will. Her supposedly dead father is alive, and she and her two sisters must find him in order to settle the Caldwell estate.

Robert Rivera, private investigator and former Navy SEAL, alerts Allison to new intel identifying her father as a P.O.W. in Afghanistan. With her sisters out of the country pursuing leads, Allison insists on heading to the war-ravaged country to find him. Robert doesn’t want his na├»ve client
to take the risk. He knows what danger lays in that godforsaken land…he’s lived through it. Barely.
But Allison is determined to go, and Robert can’t let her travel alone.

Reluctantly appreciative, Allison quickly realizes how much she needs his guidance and protection, and how deeply she longs for his love. Robert struggles to understand her effect on his battle-weary heart. The path to Allison’s father is blocked by terrorists, traps and treachery—all demons of Robert’s past.
