Blog Tour: A Vampire's Deadly Delight by Liv Rancourt

She’s a quiet, unassuming bookstore owner by day, but by night...

Kristen has a deadly secret—when she smells a vampire, she turns into Jai, a beauti-licious babe who makes vamps permanently dead. To a vamp, Jai is like ambrosia. They can’t resist her. She uses this attraction, plus her super strength and her trusty blade, Mr. Sticky, to end their undead lives. The thrill of wearing miniskirts without worrying about cellulite stifles any qualms Kristen might have about killing the undead. Being Jai is the most fun she has ever had—until they come up against the one vampire Jai can’t kill. If he and Jai have a history, as he claims, Jai can’t remember it...or him.

But when her work catches the attention of some old enemies—who won’t hesitate to destroy Kristen if it also means the end of Jai—this vampire may be their only hope. Can Kristen and Jai learn to tell the difference between good and evil in time to defeat Jai’s ancient nemesis? Or will being Jai’s hostess cost Kristen more than just a little sleep?

Excerpt from A Vampire's Deadly Delight

It’s hard to keep secrets from your best friend…

When she saw Herbert she screamed loud enough to draw the attention of the shoppers out in the mall. Fortunately, the sound dissipated quickly in the open air beyond our roofline. People went back to their shopping when there was no other sign of drama.

“Shh, Rob, it’s ok,” I said, hurrying to stand next to her.

“Um, Kristen, there’s a spider the size of a Chihuahua on the counter.”

“I know. It’s Herbert. He’s kind of a pet.”

“Pet?” he said, indignant.

Robbie screamed again. I grabbed her hands.

“You have to stop screaming or they’ll send security in here.” I wanted to get this over with before any customers showed up.

“Okay, okay, okay,” she squeaked.

“Not a pet then. A friend.”

“I might be going crazy,” she said.

“No, see, it’s like this,” I started, and in the next ten minutes gave Robbie the Cliff Notes version of the last nine months of my life, the bite, and the change to Jai and Mr. Sticky, and vamp dust, and all.

“That’s…wow…” she said when I was finished.

“That about sums it up,” I said.

“Can we talk about your vamp friend and his freaky sidekick yet?” Herbert said.

We ignored him.

“So Mr. Sticky is magic or something.” Robbie’s face still had a squint-eyed, confused look. I gave her points for trying.

“It’s a Dionysian brass blade, forged before Christ got strung up,” Herbert said.

“Nailed up,” I corrected.

“Whatever,” Herbert continued. “It’s three thousand years old and it was made to kill vampires. It comes with being Jai.”

  1. This sounds interesting, indeed. A nice combination of vampires and humor. I'm adding this to my wish list.
