I hate admitting that I couldn’t finish a book I received.  I especially dislike having to write reviews for them!  This book has been lingering on my shelf for just under a year and I have tried NUMEROUS times to read it.  I would pick it up, I would read a few chapters and it goes back to it’s place on the shelf.  This process repeated, oh three or four times over the course of a few months.  At that point, I have to admit to myself it’s just not going to happen.

The synopsis sounded amazing, and I thought – hey I could really enjoy this book!  Unfortunately, it just didn’t do anything for me!  I’ve seen some amazing reviews for this book and I might in the future pick up and give it a try again, but at this point in time it’s going on my DNF list and staying in it’s spot on my bookcase for now.

Will I recommend this to anyone?  At this point I can’t answer that question.  Will I try this author again?  Probably, it might be just this book didn’t hit that “need to devour” button in my brain – so I’d be willing to try something else by her.

  1. I hate having to write DNF posts, but at least you are willing to pick it up again later to try again. Sometimes books you think are going to work for you just don't. I wouldn't force myself to read anything if I can't get into it. *sigh*

  2. Hate when that happens!! It's cool though. Not everyone will like every book! What exactly didn't you like about it?

    1. So very true :)
I had a had time connecting with the characters and the story. It might have been just when I picked it up and what I had going on - so I'll give it a go again later in the summer when things are quiet.
