He had a perfectly orderly life...

William, the sixth Duke of Pelham, enjoys his punctual, securely structured life. Orderly and predictable—that's the way he likes it. But he's in the public eye, and the scandal sheets will make up anything to sell papers. When the gossip papers link him to Juliette, one of the most beautiful and celebrated courtesans in London, chaos doesn't begin to describe what happens next...

Until she came along...

Juliette is nicknamed the Duchess of Dalliance and has the cream of the nobility at her beck and call. It's disruptive to have the duke who is the biggest catch on the Marriage Mart scaring her other suitors away. Then she discovers William's darkest secret and decides what he needs in his life is the kind of excitement only she can provide...

She has the ton on their toes and them in the palm of her hands.  She’s gorgeous, she’s witty, she’s the topic of scandal – she’s the Duchess of Dalliance.  Men fall at her feet and are at her beck and call.. all but one.

When a rumor hits the scandal sheets, Juliette laughs at the thought of her and the elusive Duke of Pelham being together.  When a ‘chance’ meeting at a party throws these two together, all bets are off.

William expects everything and everyone to be punctual and on his schedule.  Unfortunately for him, Juliette has thrown a wrench is his well oiled machine.   With lives on the line these two have to get along or someone might end up dead!

One of the things I love about Shana’s books is how easily I can be drawn into the story – and this was no exception!  With amazing characters, romance, scandal, mystery, intrigue and a touch of danger you are swept up into the adventure of William and Juliette.

With twists and turns you are kept on the edge of your seat through out this book.  Can they uncover the truth and find out what happens?  Can William admit his feelings?  Will Juliette finally reveal her secrets?

Would I recommend this book?  Without a single doubt or hesitation.  This has easily hit my favorites list for the year.  Shana has again blown me away with her talent and how seamless she weaves so many elements into one fantastic story.  Will I read more by this author?  Oh yes, I can’t wait to see what happens to the other lovely Jewels of the Ton!
