Welcome to Romance Week!
Today I have the wonderful Amanda Usen and Chrystal @ Snowdrop Dreams of Books has the equally amazing Ada Adams!
Amanda Usen knows two things for certain: chocolate cheesecake is good for breakfast and a hot chef can steal your heart. Her husband stole hers on the first day of class at the Culinary Institute of America. They married after graduation in a lovely French Quarter restaurant in New Orleans. After enjoying the food and the fun in the Big Easy for a few years, they returned to Western New York to raise a family.
Amanda spends her days teaching pastry arts classes at a local community college and her nights writing romance. She’s a member of the Romance Writers of America ® and the Western New York Romance Writers. When she’s not writing, teaching or baking, she can usually be found chasing the kids around the yard with her very own scrumptious husband.
My favorite part of every book is always the romance. I will turn hundreds of pages waiting for the hero and heroine to get it together…and then get it on together. I love that powerful moment of connection. I have stayed up too late countless times because an author is good at drawing out the emotional payoff! I’ve been a romance junkie for as long as I can remember, and I’m a charter member of the just one more chapter club. I live for the moment two lovers bare their emotions and admit their love for each other. However…
In real life, it’s not the smexy that gets me through the day. (Okay, *sometimes* it’s the smexy, but my real life is band concerts, homework, work schedules, edits, mopping the kitchen floor, doing the taxes, yup – you know what I mean.) I love intimate moments with my husband, but we’ve already had that awesome emotional epiphany moment…fourteen years ago! He steals my heart in more prosaic way. Programming the coffee maker every night to feed my caffeine addiction. Making dinner so I can write. Putting the kids to bed so I can read, Buying me a Valentine’s Day card even though I don’t buy him one. (In my defense, I come through in other ways…) Doing the laundry. (Again, in my defense, he doesn’t fold it or put it away. Think about that for a moment…)
Valentine’s Day is reviled by some as a Hallmark holiday, created solely for the purpose of selling cards and tchotchkes. However, I think anything that encourages us to appreciate love is a worthwhile thing. Whether it’s love for our kids, parents, relatives, spouses, pets, favorite books or sports, love is an amazing emotion. Love dominates my life and I hope it plays a part in yours too! Love, the excitement that makes us dig deeper and reach for more, the motivation for creating life and continuing on, is worthy of remembrance and commemoration.
To celebrate LOVE (and signing a 3-book contract with Entangled Publishing’s Brazen line for more hot chef romances), Amanda is giving away a gourmet chocolate bar AND your choice of a PRINT copy of SCRUMPTIOUS or LUSCIOUS!
To enter, leave a comment telling us whether you are more of a SCRUMPTIOUS or LUSCIOUS reader, so we know which book you’d prefer. If you don’t want to miss Amanda’s new Brazen books, sign up for her New Release Newsletter HERE!
Joe Rafferty is just as mouthwatering as the food he cooks. But if he thinks he's going to waltz in and take over her kitchen, he's denser than a thick slice of chocolate ripple cheesecake.
Marly has invested too much of her life in Chameleon to hand off the restaurant to someone else—especially a cocky-as-all-get-out superstar chef. But there's no denying the man knows how to light her fire.
Question is: Can she have the sizzle without feeling the burn?
Eat, play, love
Plain old ice cream just isn't going to cut it. To beat these blues, chef Olivia Marconi needs the good stuff: rich, creamy tiramisu gelato. And no place better to get it than Italy.
But a fresh start is nearly impossible with Sean Kindred dogging her every move. She's been burned by his too-hot-to-handle antics before. Though there's no denying the man can still get her all fired up.
Could a weeklong affair finally turn into something more lasting...or will it all go up in flames?
