Feeling the Heat…

How do you stay under the sheriff's radar in a town that prides itself on knowing everyone's business? Leah's not sure it's possible, but she's determined to avoid Colton Bea for as long as she can. Seeing him again would be too heartbreaking—and she knows from experience his bone-melting kisses are way too tempting.

Colt still hasn't forgiven Leah for her sudden disappearing act ten years ago. He may no longer be the hellion he was in high school, but he's still willing to play dirty to get what he wants. And he won't let Leah get away again. Armed with chocolate ├ęclairs, a killer smile, and an adorable niece, he will make sure that this time the love of his life has plenty of reasons to stay.

Hello Macy, and Welcome to Stitch Read Cook!

MB: Thank you; I’m honored to be here! :-)

1.  What is the most memorable thing that's happened to you since you became a published author?

MB: Two experiences come to mind: the first time I spotted my book in a store (it was on the end-cap at my local Meijer), and the first time I attended a conference with ACTUAL FANS in attendance who weren’t related to me. Both of those moments were life-changing.

2.  What author influenced you the most and why?

MB: This is a toughie because I read across all genres, but I’d say Carly Phillips and Lori Foster have had the most profound impact on my career. They’ve been so generous with their wisdom, guidance, and advice, and I’m very thankful for that.

3.  If you had to pick a favorite character (of your own), who would it be and why?

MB: That would be Cara Sweeney, the main character in my YA debut, ALIENATED (coming in February from Disney Hyperion). Not only is she snarky and whip-smart; she also gets to host the hottest alien exchange student in the universe. Beam me up!

4.  If you could jump into any book, which would it be?

MB: My critique partners co-authored a re-imagining of the classic musical Brigadoon, and it’s set in a fairytale Scottish kingdom complete with rolling, green hills and hot, kilted princes. I’d love to spend some time in their book, DOON.

5.  You and 5 other people are sitting around a table having dinner.  Who would be your companions and why? (any author, historical figure etc)

MB: Man, you ask the hard questions! Okay, here goes: Stevie Ray Vaughan (who would play guitar for me), Harrison Ford (my longtime celebrity obsession), Channing Tatum (to dance…preferably shirtless), Jen Lancaster (to crack jokes), and Kevin Bacon (because everything’s better with bacon).

6.  What is next for Macy Beckett?

MB: I’m glad you asked! I have a brand-new, hot & humorous romance series coming next year from Penguin. It kicks off in April with PREMARITAL HEX. Goodreads link: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17316805-premarital-hex

  3. Oh, I'm gonna have to say (today) that my favorite would be Wedding Crashers. Just because I cannot pass it when it's on tv. I even bought it thinking I would be able to stop watching it every time it's on tv - not so much. There's also a made-for-tv movie that is really cute and it's called The Nearlyweds. Adorable! Just saw it again this weekend.

  4. I love When Harry Met Sally (Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal). The famous orgasm scene makes me laugh whenever I think of it. I also like Sleepless in Seattle and You've got mail. Which of course is Meg Ryan again, but with Tom Hanks. Both excellent movies.

  6. My favorite romantic comedy is Leap Year. It's funny and oh so charming. Really helps that Matthew Goode is absolutely delightful paired with Amy Adams! I could watch that movie again and again...and sigh at the ending each and every time.

    Cheers on the giveaway!!

  7. The Proposal is my favorite. Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds have such great chemistry but not only that, the supporting characters are equally as funny.
